Dune Book Cover

Publication Design

After reading a copy of Frank Herbert's Dune I wanted to a design my own cover. The depiction of the main character and other surrounding objects are based upon the movie adaptation, but still fit the book's description and aesthetic. Paul, the main character, stands upon a sand dune, with a device to hook a sandworm and ride the shai-hulud. In the book this scene is used to symbolize Paul's rise to leadership, and him learning the ways of the Fremen people. To me this scene summed up Dune in a single image and served as a good book cover.
